Hazy Shade of Winter

Paperwhites on the way -- who's going to bloom first?

It’s been a strange winter. Even though the Sierra snow season tends to start later  than in other places, it is almost mid-February and there is still barely anything white to be found. Points north and east have gotten hammered, but the jet continues to forsake us.

People are still getting out, but instead of sliding around on the boards they are rolling around on bikes, climbing around on granite, and running around on dry trails. Here are a few pictures of what we’ve been up to since getting back from Alaska — a little white, but mostly green!

We have some wonderful trails just north of town ... went out on this snowy day and got first tracks! (The snow was gone by midweek.)
I decided to plant some Siberian Kale. Why not? Plenty of sun to go around.
