Double Auntie Visits Boston for Feaster

In my family, Easter has turned into “Feaster”— a day that thankfully involves no religion, but instead getting together  to enjoy good food and wine. This year, Feaster somewhat coincided with my Mom’s 70th birthday, so …

… Cindy and Jennifer hatched a plan whereby “Double Auntie” (my Official Name, according to Ellery) would visit as a birthday surprise. I flew in Friday night—Cindy and I then went to House of Coyne for pizza á la Jen + John. And bonus playtime with Ellery and Sid.

On Saturday we drove down to Providence, RI to meet Mom and Dad at Venda Ravioli, an Italian food emporium located in the heart of Federal Hill, the “Little Italy” section of Providence.

If you can’t find something yummy among the  gourmet pastas, pasta sauces, meats, fine Italian foods, olive oil, vinegar, cheeses, espresso, Italian gift venda02baskets, cookbooks, Made in Rhode Island products and much more …

It was a whirlwind trip — just a weekend — but both Mom and Dad were hugely surprised. We’d call it a win.

  2. Great pictures, Carolyn, as usual. Wonderful to see you–what a surprise when you walked across Atwells Avenue. It was a super Feaster. I know your Mom was surprised and pleased that you came. Those spur-of-the-moment visits are really great. Thanks again for coming.

    Love Dad
